THE BROKE ARTIST ROAD MAP

The dream is to become a rich rapper.  But how do you become a rap millionaire.  How to you work your way up as a rapper?  Everybody in the game has paved their own way to stardom.  will you be next.  Here's a road map to the rapper who's just starting off still staying with moms.  I'm talking EBT budget.  I should know I've been there.

1. Record your song.   Make sure your recording is quality.  Make sure the recording is mixed and mastered.  Its also a good idea to get a commercial radio edit.  If you can record yourself you are winning.  With usb mics starting at just $100 a pop buy one and you can record all your mix-tapes.
Then use a fiverr producer to mix and master your song.  Here's a link. MIXING AND MASTERING STARTING AT $5

2. First let me say I'm not referring to any artist who's video I use to be broke.  Okay with that been said........Now that you have a single you need to shoot a music video but with no funds this can seem like a really hard task.  Do you have an iPhone or know anybody with an iPhone?  Here are a few video's shot with iPhone's.  Remember to take pictures at your video shoot for promo stuff that will come up later.

So you have your shots.  I thinks it a really good i dea to head back to fiverr and pay someone to edit you music video for you.  Here's a link MUSIC VIDEO EDITING STARTING AT $5.

3. Okay great you have a complete song and a music video.  Now, Remember them photos you took? You need to create some promo material.  Start with making your Twitter, Facebook, and google plus/YouTube cohesive.  Either create you own banner photos using www.canva.com or visit fiverr again to get your banners made.  Here's a link for that PURCHASE BANNERS FOR $5.

After you get your banners created you still need a couple more promo pieces.  One of my fav Promo pieces is the Instagram promo video which can be shared on Facebook and YouTube here's a link $10 Instagram/Fb/Youtube Promo.

The last promo piece you will need is a event flier.  Google your area for all the open mics you can find.  Set up a free tour for yourself.  Open mics are usually consistent and always around.  Spit a verse on your mix-tape no music.  Put about 4-6 dates on you event flier even if its the same location reoccur every week.  Or pay for about 4 show slots and make a flier to share on social media platforms.

4.  Now you want to spend a little bit of cash on Facebook ads.  They are effective in getting the word out for events. Spend like $40 dollars max.  But your are gonna split this up into many different ads.

Instagtam promo video: $5
Music video: $5
Show/Tour Flier: $5
Fb page: $10
3 Blog article share: $2
2 Radio Interview: $2
Itunes/spotify/buy link Share: $5

Visit fiverr again for some radio interviews and blog mentions you can share on social media.
Here are some links BLOG MENTION 1        BLOG MENTION 2         BLOG MENTION 3
RADIO INTERVIEW 1    RADIO INTERVIEW 2

DISTRIBUTE YOUR MUSIC ON ITUNES, SPOTIFY, AMAZON, AND MORE...

5.  Now you need to get out and network.  You should be popping up at multiple events every weekend and shaking hands with the DJ's, taking pictures with fans and more.  This isnt everything but it sure is a start.  Keep them singles coming and with every single try to invest $50 more each time.  Wanna hear my other ideas? shoot me an email to workhardatit@gmail.com.
